Julie is passionate about designing spaces that are inspired by the environment & location. She loves to design spaces people enjoy to live in and is excited to be designing better housing for modern New Zealanders.

Susi Thomson

Director/Operations Manager, Alliance Architecture

Originally from South Africa, Susi and her family arrived in New Zealand in July 2019 and, in September of that year, she started at Alliance Architecture as an Architectural Technician. She worked hard to learn the NZ building regulations, NZ building code and our specific town planning rules.

Susi’s earlier career as a Chemist followed by her architectural training and over 12 years of experience in the field, she has added significant design, technical and analytical skills to the company. Coupled with her personal discipline and dedication, she quickly catapulted into a management role.

In January 2022, Susi joined Julie as a Co-Director of Alliance Architecture and is continuously striving to perform her role as Operations Manager to an excellent standard, engaging and assisting the team to ensure the architectural drawings and documentation deliverables are a quality product, on time and to a very high standard.
